Uluwatu

Bali

The most mysterious and alluring area with its beauty is located in the southwestern point of the Bukit Peninsula. This area owes its name to the temple of Pura Luhur Uluwatu, whose name translates as: “Ulu” - peak, and “Watu” - stone or rock. This is easily explained: the temple complex stands right on the edge of a picturesque cliff that goes into the raging ocean. Incredibly beautiful sunsets and excellent surfing conditions are the main reasons for the popularity of this area. It lies on high hills covered with palm trees, ferns and banana trees. The perfect place to rent a villa in Bali and explore this beautiful island.

The Uluwatu area will appeal to those who come to Bali not only for surfing, but also who like to spend a lot of time on wild beaches, peering into the bright sun through black glasses and watching water skating on boards. Here the sun does not leave the sky all day long, there is a lot of water, and the wind blows here. This place will appeal to people who want to merge with nature, enjoy peace and solitude in the tropical forest with gorgeous views of the Indian Ocean, because the nearest “civilization” can only be reached by car or bike. Photographers also loved this area. They are undoubtedly guaranteed concentrated aesthetic pleasure here! Oddly enough, this place is loved by tourists with completely different tastes and interests, since Uluwatu is a cultural, natural and party area at the same time.

The beaches in the Uluwatu area are mostly wild, but very clean and beautiful. To get to the shore, sometimes you need to go down steep steps or make your way under rock arches. During high tides, the water rises so high that it can flood the beaches, making it difficult to get close to them. A feeling of peace and serenity always arises when we are near the water at low tide. On some beaches you can rent a sun lounger, but we recommend bringing a large beach towel or a straw mat for sunbathing.

The most famous beach in the Uluwatu area is Padang Padang Beach. It became so popular after the filming of the film Eat, Pray, Love with Julia Roberts that they decided to charge admission. And even the steep stone staircase through the gorge between two rocks, on the way of which families of monkeys meet, does not frighten tourists; everyone wants to visit here and feel like a heroine of a famous film.
